Pastor Mark Roelofs

Mark began working as a Trailhead pastor in August of 2018. He continues to praise the Lord for His faithfulness to do a good work through His Word - in our Trailhead Family and in their own lives! He is grateful for the wonderful staff (Kelley Gobbs & Heidi Kool) and fellow elders (Pastor Clay, Tom Eliel, and Levi VanZee) that God has surrounded him with. And he is excited to see what the Lord has in store for Trailhead in the future.

Mark is married to Beth (they celebrated their 22nd anniversary in July, 2021), and they have two daughters, Marin (18), and Annika (17). Beth is currently the elementary and middle school music teacher here in Townsend. Marin will be studying Elementary Education at Colorado Christian University beginning in the Fall of 2022. And Annika will be a senior at the Helena Christian School in East Helena. Mark enjoys reading, listening to podcasts, exercising, hiking, and watching movies with his girls.  

Although he grew up in a Christian family, went to church regularly, attended Christian schools, and served a number of churches in one capacity or another, Mark admits that it wasn’t till 2013, after God took him through a two year period of depression, that he began to understand the grace of God and the good news of the Gospel (the perfect life and sacrificial death of Christ on our behalf; God’s forgiveness and acceptance of us truly being founded on the perfect performance of Christ) – really for the first time!  He has been growing in this truth ever since - the Gospel has changed his life dramatically.  Furthermore, Mark has come to understand that the Gospel is the point of the Bible.  Therefore, he believes that his ministry needs to be focused on helping people understand how the Gospel can be seen in all of Scripture, and also how it intersects with and affects every aspect of life!  

Pastor Clay

Pastor Clay is the founder and teacher of the online ministry, 13forty4. He is also the author of “Men Are… Biblical Characteristics of Godly Men” and “Look Away: 60 Days of Treasuring God”

Originally from Indiana, he and his wife, Makinze, moved to Montana in 2019.
