At Trailhead we use the model of worship teams to provide the music for our worship experiences. We currently have worship teams that cover a wide range of styles from contemporary to traditional, blue-grass to modern pop. Each Sunday, a different team of people comes together to lead worship. As a whole, we encourage blended music from the teams to meet the needs of our diverse congregation.
What that means is that even though a particular team may be traditional…they will still play a contemporary song or two. Another team may be more contemporary, but they will work in an old hymn. Therefore, on any given Sunday, you may hear songs that were played in your church as a child, as well as a song you heard on the radio on the way to church.
Overall, the purpose of the teams is to lead the congregation in heartfelt worship of The Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
“Let us make a joyful noise to the Lord!”
52; So Jesus said to them, “That is why every scribe who has become a disciple of the kingdom of heaven is like a home owner. He brings new and old things out of his treasure chest.”
33; I will sing to the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.
34; Let my meditation be pleasing to Him; As for me, I shall be glad in the Lord.
Our goal as a worship team is to prepare the gathered Church for worship. When the music is done, it is our hope that hearts and minds are open and ready to receive and be challenged through the message from the Word of God. As our scripture verse implies, we try to find treasures from the new and old (contemporary/traditional) styles of worship music and weave it together in a bluegrass/country/folk style. Worship to us is combining biblical truth with music in order to glorify God.
1st Peter 4:10;
Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others,
as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.
This is a way we know how to serve.
Music allows you to express your emotions and feelings in a way that no other could. Our goal is to create an environment that allows the congregation to do just that. To communicate to the Lord, whether it be through prayer or praise.
To have a freedom of worship.
Our group introduces the newer songs and we add a contemporary feel to
the old favorites.
Shout with Joy to the Lord, all the earth! Worship the Lord with gladness!
Come before him, singing with Joy!
